Rodolfo Falvo (1874-1936)

The Neapolitan song Guapparia, with music by Rodolfo Falvo and words by L. Bovio, was published in Milan in 1937, the year after the composer's death. It is marked Tempo di Serenata for it is one of those serenades intended to be sung under the balconies of beautiful young ladies. In this case, however; the ardent youth who is hoping to do the serenading - he has his sights set on Margherita, the most attractive girl in the village - has to compete with the noise being made by all the local children.
