LONDON, UK (May 23, 2001) - Global Music Network, (www.gmn.com) the award-winning website for Classical Music, Jazz and Opera, has expanded to become the GMN Arts Network.
Striving to be the gateway to the best arts sites and content on the web, the new portal-style GMN
comprises six arts channels – Classical Music, Jazz, Opera, Theatre, Ballet and World Music.
The channels feature the latest in global arts news and editorial, and lead visitors to an extensive range of arts content on the web, including GMN’s own rich media music sites ClassicalPlus (http://classicalplus.gmn.com) and JazzPlus (http://jazzplus.gmn.com).
Further 'Plus' sites for the other Arts Network genres will be added to the network over the coming year. These will feature the comprehensive content for which GMN is known - audio and video, MP3 downloads, interviews, features, radio, and forums.
GMN Production Director Steve Long says this is a logical extension to GMN's activities over the past three years. "The new arts network builds on the experience gained in creating one of the most successful Classical and Jazz sites on the Internet. The rich content has now been split into separate Classical and Jazz sites and we will be adding depth of content with the other art forms that we will be making available via the portal,” he said.
GMN was founded in 1998 and quickly established itself as the pre-eminent destination on the web for Classical Music, Jazz and Opera, popular for its daily webcasts of performances by leading artists, and abundant audio and video content.
